Maria Lapointe and Samuel Hodas
The bride, 26, is a project manager at the American Dental Education Association in Washington. She collects information on subjects like diversity in dental schools and publishes it online and in newsletters. In September, she will become a student at Howard University College of Dentistry. She graduated from Wellesley and received a certificate in postbaccalaureate premedical studies from Georgetown.
Her father, a retired colonel in the National Guard, is a district engineer at the Waterville Sewerage District in Waterville, Me. Her mother is a teller at an Augusta branch of the Savings Bank of Maine.
The bridegroom, also 26, is a legislative assistant in Washington for Representative Melissa L. Bean, Democrat of Illinois. He graduated from Franklin & Marshall College.
His mother is a deputy attorney general for the state of Delaware in Wilmington. His father is a professor of law at the Widener University School of Law, at its Wilmington campus.
